Latest Updates (as of May 6, 2024)

  • Exam Date Change: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has revised the NEET PG exam date. It will now be held on June 23, 2024, instead of the previously announced July 7, 2024.
  • Time-Bound Sections Introduced: A significant change has been implemented in the exam format. NEET PG 2024 will be the first to feature mandatory time-bound sections. The question paper will be divided into sections, each with a specific time limit. Candidates won’t be able to move to the next section until the allotted time for the current section is complete. This requires a strategic approach to time management during the exam.

Eligibility Criteria

Before applying, candidates who want to take the exam or engage in the counseling process should ensure they meet the requirements. NBE releases the information on the NEET PG eligibility criteria. The eligibility requirements for NEET PG have been compiled below:

  • Possess an MBBS degree from a recognized university included in the first or second schedule of the Indian Medical Council (MCI).
  • Must have completed one year of internship or be expected to complete it by the admission date.
  • Foreign medical graduates need to possess a registration certificate from the MCI.

NEET PG 2024 Application Process

Mode of application- Online

  • Visit the official website of NEET PG exam i.e. nbe.edu.in and select the NEET PG 2024 section.
  • Select the ‘new registration’ tab and fill out the requested information.
  • After that, an email and SMS with the user ID and password will be delivered.
  • Complete the application by providing your personal information, your qualifications (MBBS or primary medical qualification), information on your internship, SMC/MCI registration information, and test center information.
  • A recent passport-size photo (up to 80 KB in size, in JPG or JPEG format) and signature (up to 80 KB in size, in JPG or JPEG format) should be uploaded. signature
  • Select the test city.
  • Pay your fees online via net banking, credit/debit cards, or other methods.
  • Print the completed application form, making sure the transaction ID is printed on it.

NEET PG 2024 Exam Pattern

NEET PG 2024 will be a computer-based test (CBT) with a duration of 3 hours 30 minutes (210 minutes). The question paper will comprise 200 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with:

  • Subject-wise distribution: The exact subject-wise distribution is yet to be announced by NBEMS. However, it typically covers subjects like Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine, PSM, Surgery, Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, and ENT.
  • Marking Scheme: Each correct answer carries 4 marks, and there’s a negative marking of 1 mark for every incorrect answer. Unanswered questions won’t be penalized.
