IIEBM Indus Business School Pune was founded in 2000 by Shrimant Vijaysinh Naik Nimbalkar, also known as Shivajiraje, a descendant of the ruling family of Phaltan, District Satara, and Col. Vinod Marwaha, a visionary entrepreneur and philanthropist.
In the pre-merger era, the Royal Family of Phaltan provided education in the state. His Highness Shrimant Mudhojirao Naik Nimbalkar, the ruler of Phaltan State, established the first school in 1893.
Following the merger of princely states with the mainstream government, Phaltan’s education staff was transferred to the government. This led to the formation of the Phaltan Education Society, registered under the Bombay Public Trusts Act 1950 on April 27, 1953.
The Phaltan Education Society received strong support from Shrimant Vijaysinh Naik Nimbalkar, a staunch advocate for education, propelling its growth to its current status.
